Animation: the headline fades to thin type, the orange brain outline fills and grows until the screen is orange.

A memory for your workday and meetings.

Everpaper remembers what you see and hear at work, on your Mac. Ask it later, and it answers with the exact screenshot or the moment in the call.

Private beta. macOS 15 or later on an Apple-silicon Mac.

Why Everpaper exists

I lost a phone number earlier this year. I’d seen it on my screen that morning, and by the afternoon it was gone. I scrolled, searched, gave up. My Mac saw that number. Why can’t it just remember it for me?

A phone number, shown masked. It is not shown on purpose.

Marco Iannello, who makes Everpaper.

Animation: windows pile over a phone number, shown only as dots, and its dots fade to thin. Brackets frame it through the pile. Then the orange folds into a bookmark ribbon and slides up into the menu bar.

Animation: you press Start workday journal. Every two minutes Everpaper saves a picture of the screen. At 10:42 Mail shows an email from the Accounts team with a phone number; Everpaper saves a picture and reads its text. Later it pauses while you are away, and skips an app you chose to skip.

You start the journal.

While it runs, Everpaper saves one picture of each screen every two minutes and reads the text on it, on your Mac.

Animation: you press Record. Two audio lines, your microphone and the call audio, draw as the call is recorded. A notetaker bot tries to join and bounces off: no bot joins. After the recording is saved, the words lift off the audio lines into a transcript with speaker labels.

14:00

The call starts. You press Record.

Everpaper records your microphone and your Mac’s call audio directly. No bot joins.

Or opt in and let your calendar start it.

Telling people they are being recorded is still up to you.

Animation: the question 'What was that phone number I saw this morning?' types itself. A faint number in the margin flies into the answer and becomes bold: +39 02 1234 5678, highlighted, with the screenshot of the email in Mail at 10:42 as its source.

How long it remembers

A day’s screenshots and its written entry are deleted after 30 days by default. Keep them 7 days, 90 days, or forever.

Kept for 30 days, the default.

Online AI

Off unless you switch it on.

Prefer another model? Use your own Ollama or LM Studio, or connect Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini. Online AI stays off until you switch it on. Text that looks like a secret (API keys, tokens, card numbers, one-time codes) is removed before anything is sent.

Unless online AI is on, the app goes online only to check for updates and to download its on-device models and the software that runs them.

Questions.

When does it take pictures of my screen?

Only while the journal is running, and you’re the one who starts it. It saves a picture of each screen every two minutes and reads the text on it, on your Mac. You can change the interval, pause whenever you like, and choose apps to skip: while one of those is in front, nothing is captured. It pauses on its own after two minutes away.

Does a bot join my meetings?

No. You press Record, or opt in and let your calendar start it. It records your microphone and your Mac’s system audio directly, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or anything else that plays through your Mac. Telling people they are being recorded is still up to you.

Where is my data kept?

On your Mac. Screenshots and the journal are files in your Library folder. By default a day’s screenshots and its written entry are deleted after 30 days; you can choose 7 days, 90 days or forever. Unless you switch on an online AI provider, the app goes online only to check for updates and to download its on-device models and the software that runs them.

Which AI does it use?

A model that runs on your Mac, installed during setup. Summaries and answers come from it, so you don’t need a ChatGPT plan or cloud compute. You can also use your own Ollama or LM Studio, or an online provider: Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini. Online AI stays off until you connect one and switch it on, and text that looks like a secret (API keys, tokens, card numbers, one-time codes) is removed before anything is sent.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign in to. The app has no analytics and sends no usage data.

What do I need?

macOS 15 or later on an Apple-silicon Mac, plus a few gigabytes of free disk space for the speech and AI models.

How do I get it?

It’s in private beta. Request an invite with your email. If you’re selected, you hear back within 48 hours, plus a few short setup and feedback emails. No marketing email.

Animation: an orange bookmark ribbon drops, widens and fills the screen orange. The clock in the menu bar rolls forward to your current time, and a hand-drawn brain outline draws itself around the email field.
